Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview

 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a key strategic and operational leadership role within Borncut, overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s activities across its two main entities in Denmark and the Netherlands in addition to overseeing the financial aspects of its subsidiaries. The CFO will also be responsible for developing and implementing efficient Human Resources (HR) and Information Technology (IT) processes to ensure a strong foundation for growth and operational excellence.

 

The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with international experience, exceptional communication skills, and a hands-on approach to managing cross-border operations. The position requires frequent travel to the three key locations of Bornut’s operations in Bornholm and Arhus in Denmark and to Urk The Netherlands.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations for Borncut’s Danish and Dutch entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
  • Develop and implement robust financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts aligned with company goals.
  • Lead financial reporting, consolidation, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax and financial regulations.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and management team.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external financial stakeholders.

 

Strategic Leadership

 

  • Partner with the CEO and senior management to support strategic planning and business development.
  • Lead financial due diligence for potential partnerships, investments, or acquisitions.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making with a focus on long-term growth and profitability.
  • Develop new financial initiatives such as lease program or pay-per use programs.

 

HR & IT Development

 

  • Design and implement efficient HR processes supporting recruitment, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Oversee the implementation of scalable IT systems to streamline business operations and data-driven decision-making.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader with a solid track record.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-border financial structures and multiple entities.
  • Experience working with agents and distribution partners internationally.
  • Knowledge or background in the food industry or manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work across cultures and functions.
